Norwell Board of Selectmen’s Meeting
June 6, 2001

Mr. Merritt welcomed everyone to the meeting and introduced the Board and the Town Administrator.

The Executive Session was cancelled due to the Union withdrawing their grievance.

Mrs. Nancy Micek was present to give a brief synopsis of the AFS program.  Nearly every year Norwell is host to foreign students.

MOTION: John Mariano moved the Board present Honorary Citizens Certificates to Gabriel Bustamante, Sophie Bortfeldt and Dayami Cerceno.  Second by Mr. Gaynor.

Unanimously Voted.

The Board signed the Order of Taking-Centennial Waye, accepting it as a public way.

MOTION: Mr. Mariano moved the Board execute the Order of Taking of Centennial Waye.  Second by Mr. Gaynor.

Unanimously Voted.

Selectmen’s Office Hours were next on the agenda.  One member of the Board will be available to the public on Tuesday evenings between 7 and 8 o’clock PM.  It will be begin July 10, 2001.

Paul gave an update on the Community Preservation Act.  Many people have spent a lot of time looking at this.  There are many different ideas regarding alternative uses for the funds generated for the CPA.  He asked for a person from the community to come forward on this and get involved.

Also, a Master Plan update was given and more will be forthcoming at the weekly meetings.  The preliminary response on the survey has been great.  The deadline is June 30th.  

MOTION: Mr. Mariano moved the Board adjourn.  Second by Mr. Gaynor.
