Board of Selectmen's Meeting Minutes
May 8, 2002
Mr. Mariano opened the meeting and introduced the Board members and Jim Boudreau, Town Administrator.
MOTION: Mr. Gaynor moved the Board approve the agenda as written. Second by Mr. Merritt.
Unanimously Voted.
At 7:30, Donna Cunio a Cushing Memorial Directors Applicant was introduced and resides at 257 Grove St. and is a Justice of the Peace for the Town. She does many weddings and contact with many facilities. She feels that her expertise and understanding of insurance that must be in place to protect the town.
MOTION: Mr. Gaynor moved the Board appoint Donna Cunio to the Cushing Memorial director until June 30, 2003. Second by Mr. Merritt.

Old Business
The Board then continued their vote on Town Meeting Articles from last week.
New Business
MOTION: Mr. Gaynor moved the Board approve the request from the Borrowed Butler for a One Day License to sell all-alcoholic beverages at an event to be held at the Cushing Center on Saturday, May 18, 2002 between the hours of 4:00 PM and 11:00 PM. Second by Mr. Merritt.

MOTION: Mr. Gaynor moved the Board approve the request from the North River Theatre & Community Club for a License to sell all-alcoholic beverages on their premises during productions to be held on Friday evenings, May 24, 2002 and June 21, 2002 between the hours of 8:00 PM and 12:30 AM. Second by Mr. Merritt.

Discussion of Selectmen's Office Hours being Tuesday evenings 7-8 PM. Some nights being busy and others the attendance slim. For the summer the office hours will continue by appointment by calling the Selectmen's Office by close of business on Monday.
MOTION: Mr. Gaynor moved the Board establish a Veteran's Memorial Gift Fund to be counted for and managed by the Town. Second by Mr. Merritt.

MOTION: Mr. Gaynor moved the Board accept the donation of Richard Caldwell to the newly established Veteran's Memorial Gift Fund. Second by Mr. Merritt.

Road Opening
MOTION: Mr. Gaynor moved the Board approve the request from Mirra Co. Inc for AT & T Broadband for a Road Opening Permit to replace cable to 121 Old Oaken Bucket Rd. from Pole # 25. No road cut needed.

MOTION: Mr. Gaynor moved the Board approve the request from Norfolk Ram Group, LLC for a Road Opening Permit to open road for 3 soil borings on the south side of Dover St. No road cut will be needed. Dig Safe # 20021809947. Second by Mr. Merritt.
