Board of Selectmen's Meeting Minutes
March 13, 2002
Mr. Merritt opened the meeting and introduced the Board members and Jim Boudreau, Town Administrator.
MOTION: Mr. Mariano moved the Board approve the agenda as written. Second by Mr. Gaynor.
Unanimously Voted.
At 7:30, Police Officer's John A. McDevitt, Timothy P. O'Brien and Brendan M. O'Donnell were sworn in by Town Clerk Jan Lawson.
Old Business
Mr. Merritt would like to wait until after Town Meeting to appoint a candidate to the Advisory Board.
New Business
MOTION: Mr. Mariano moved the Board approve the request from the Evan Henry Foundation to hold their second annual Road Race on Sunday, April 21, 2002, at 8:30 AM for the Children's races and 10:30 AM for both the 5K and 10K races at Norwell High School. Second by Mr. Gaynor.
Unanimously Voted.
MOTION: Mr. Mariano moved the Board approve the request from the South Shore YMCA to hold a 5 mile Road Race on Sunday, May 19, 2002, at 9 AM beginning and ending at the YMCA located at 75 Mill Street, Hanover. Second by Mr. Gaynor.

MOTION: Mr. Mariano moved the Board approve the request from Professional Bartending Service, Inc. for a One Day License to sell All-Alcohol at an event to be held at the Cushing Center on March 15, 2002 between the hours of 7:00 PM and 11:00 PM. Second by Mr. Gaynor.
Unanimously Voted.
The Master Plan meetings are in progress. Overall productive moving the
process to some conclusions and ultimately would result in plan action items.
The Town Elections are Saturday, March 16, 2002.
A Water Ban is eminent due to the lack of rain and snow.
MOTION: Mr. Mariano moved the Board adjourn to Executive Session for the purpose of discussing Contracts and Litigations not to resume to Open Session. Second by Mr. Gaynor.
Mr. Merritt polled the Board; Mr. Mariano; Mr. Gaynor; yes, Mr. Merritt; yes.
