MINUTES APPROVED ~ MAY 16, 2017

 

1.   CALL TO ORDERChairman Charlie Burger called the Regular Meeting of the North Stonington Zoning Board of Appeals to order at 7:00 p.m. at the Sr. Center, Holly Green Plaza.

 

BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT Charlie Burger, Chairman, James Lord, Vice-Chair, Candy Palmer, Robin Hall, and Heather Chrissos 

 

COMMISSIONERS ABSENTAlternate Members Gary Thompson, Anne Nelson and Amy Kimball

3.   PUBLIC HEARINGS

 

ZBA Application #16-002, of Dennis Johnson (Estate of Eleanor Johnson) for property known as 216 Cossaduck Hill Road, North Stonington, CT  06359 located on the east side of Rt. 201 (Cossaduck Hill Road) in an R-80 Zone.  Tax Map #69, Lot #1278.  Applicant is appealing from an order, requirement, or decision made by the Zoning Enforcement Officer regarding a free split.  (PH scheduled for 01/17/17; received on 11/15/16; & Board must act on or by 1/18/17)

                                            

Chairman Burger read the Rules of Procedure into the record.

Chris Johnson, spoke on behalf of the Estate of Eleanor Johnson.  Mr. Johnson went over the appeal stating the State was interested in buying some of the land but didn’t want the house and that was the reason for inquiring about a free split.

 

The Board stated the applicant would not need a free split to break off the house lot as they would not be creating another lot.  The land that the State wanted to purchase would be added to abutting State land and a lot line adjustment would be the application required.

 

MOTION by C. Palmer, SECOND by R. Hall to close the Public Hearing on application #16-002.  MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY

 

4.   PENDING APPLICATIONS:

MOTION by C. Palmer, SECOND by R. Hall to uphold the ZEO’s decision, appeal denied.  MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
