SPECIAL TOWN MEETING
MINUTES
February 25, 2013
A special Town Meeting of electors and citizens qualified to vote in Town Meetings of the Town of North Stonington, CT. was held in the North Stonington Town Hall Conference Room, 40 Main Street, North Stonington, CT on Monday, February 25, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. Present First Selectman Nicholas H Mullane II, Selectman Shawn Murphy, and Selectman Mark Donahue. Selectman Mullane called the meeting to order then asked the Town Clerk Norma Holliday to read the call of the meeting. Selectman Mullane asked for a motion from the floor to elect a Moderator. A MOTION made by Shawn Murphy seconded by Joe Gross, to elect Selectman Nicholas Mullane II Moderator. A MOTION made by Shawn Murphy seconded by Ann Nalwalk to close all nomination, both MOTION carried unanimously. Selectman
Mullane was declared Moderator, then asked the Town Clerk to read item one of the call of the meeting
- To hear and act upon an additional appropriation request, as approved by the Board of Finance, of $50,625, line item BB 26.04 State Troopers for the FY 2013 DUI Highway Safety Grant. A MOTION made by Shawn Murphy, seconded by Ann Nalwalk to approve item #1 as read. Selectman Mullane gave a brief explaination of the appropriation request, no disscussion followed, MOTION carried unanimously.
- To hear and act upon the acceptance of the third amendment to the Agreement between SCRRRA and the Town of North Stonington, a municipality in the State of Connecticut to provide solid waste management services to extend the term of the agreement to and including February 17, 2017. A MOTION made by Shawn Murphy, seconded by Ann Nalwalk to accept item #2 as read. Selectman Mullane gave a brief explaination of the third amendment to the agreement, disscussion followed, MOTION carried unanimously.
- To hear and act upon an additional appropriation request in the amount of $87,253, to line item, BB27.27, Public Works Storm Damage as approved by the Board of Finance. A MOTION made by Shawn Murphy, seconded by Mark Donahue to approve item #3 as read. Selectman Mullane gave a brief explaination of the additional appropriation request, disscussion followed, MOTION carried unanimously.
A MOTION made by Shawn Murphy seconded by Mark Donahue to adjourn the meeting at 7:25pm, MOTION carried unanimously.
