Special Town Meeting
February 6, 2012
A special Town Meeting of electors and citizens qualified to vote in Town Meetings of the Town of North Stonington, Connecticut was held in the New Town Hall Conference Room 40 Main Street, North Stonington, CT on Monday, February 6, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. Present First Selectman Nicholas H Mullane II, Selectman Shawn Murphy, and Selectman Mark Donahue. Selectman Mullane called the meeting to order then asked Town Clerk Norma Holliday to read the call of the meeting. Selectman Mullane asked for a motion from the floor to elect a Moderator. A MOTION made by Shawn Murphy, seconded by Dan Spring, to elect Emil Pavlovics Moderator. A MOTION made by Mark Donahue, seconded by Dan Spring to close all nomination, the MOTION carried unanimously. Emil Pavlovics was declared Moderator, and then asked
the Town Clerk to read item one of the call of the meeting.
- To act upon the acceptance of the DUI Grant from the State of Connecticut, Department of Transportation in the amount of $67,800 and to approve an additional appropriation of $50,850, to line item BB 26.04 State Troopers, to fund the Federal Share of the grant. A MOTION made by First Selectman Mullane seconded by Mark Donahue to accept item one as presented. First Selectman Mullane gave a brief explaination regarding the DUI Grant and the amount of stops the Troopers have made in Town. Brett Mastroianni spoke in favor of the grant, MOTION carried unaimously.
- To hear and act upon an additional appropriation of $17,000, to CNR new line item (Village Green Bridge) for the engineering costs of the Village Green Bridge repairs. FEMA will reimburse 75% of the expenses to the Town. A MOTION made by First Selectman Mullane, seconded by Dan Spring to approve item two as presented. First Selectman Mullane Gave a brief explaination regarding the additional appropriation no discussion followed, MOTION carried unaimously.
A MOTION made by Shawn Murphy, seconded by Dan Spring to adjourned the meeting at 7:15pm, MOTION approved unanimously.
