SPECIAL TOWN MEETING
Minutes
September 28, 2009
A special Town Meeting of electors and citizens qualified to vote in Town Meetings of the Town of North Stonington, Connecticut was held in the North Stonington Town Hall Conference Room, 40 Main St, North Stonington, CT., on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. Present were First Selectman; Nicholas Mullane II, Selectman Shawn Murphy, Selectman Bill Ricker and Town Clerk Norma Holliday. First Selectman Nicholas H. Mullane II called the meeting to order. A MOTION made by Shawn Murphy, seconded by Charlie Smith III to elect Bob Shabunia as moderator, Charlie Smith made a MOTION to close all nominations, seconded by Joe Reissner, Motion carried unanimously. Bob Shabunia was declared Moderator, and then asked Town Clerk Norma Holliday to read each item separately.
Shall the Town of North Stonington postpone its revaluation of real property for 2010 to 2011 for the Grand List to be effective October 1, 2011 as allowed by Connecticut Public Act 09-60. First Selectman Mullane gave a brief explanation in absent of the Assessor, discussion followed. Board of Finance members Gary Herbert and Emil Pavlovics also commented on the revaluation, more discussion followed. A MOTION made by Nichols Mullane, seconded by Brad Currier to approve the item as presented, MOTION approved unanimously.
A motion made by Mary Bishop, seconded by Eleanor Johnson to adjourn at 7:22 pm, motion carried unanimously.
