SPECIAL TOWN MEETING
June 16, 2008
A special Town Meeting of electors and those entitled to vote at Town
Meetings of the Town of North Stonington, CT was held at 7:00 P.M.,
Monday, June 16, 2008 at the New Town Hall Conference Room 40 Main
Street, North Stonington, CT. Present were First Selectman; Nicholas
Mullane II, absent were Selectman Shawn Murphy, and Selectman Bill
Ricker. First Selectman Nicholas H. Mullane II called the meeting to
order. A MOTION made by Stephen Holliday, seconded by Gladys Chase to
elect Bob Shabunia as moderator, Nicholas Mullane II made a MOTION to
close all nominations, seconded by Steven Holliday so carried. Bob
Shabunia was declared Moderator, and then asked Town Clerk Norma
Holliday to read each item separately.
1. Resolved: That the Board of Selectmen shall be given the
authority to move the balance of the Capital Line item, Ambulance
($164,889), to the Capital Non Recurring Accounts to complete the
project. A MOTION made by First Selectman Nicholas Mullane II, seconded
by Steve Holliday to approve the request as presented. First Selectman
Nicholas Mullane gave a brief explanation, no discussion followed,
MOTION approved by a show of hands.
2. To hear and act upon amendments to the Town's Economic
Development Ordinance. A MOTION made by Steve Holliday, seconded by
First Selectman Nicholas Mullane II to approve the request as presented.
First Selectman Nicholas Mullane gave a brief explanation, no discussion
followed, MOTION approved by a show of hands.
A motion made by Steve Holliday, seconded by First Selectman Nicholas
Mullane II to adjourn the meeting at 7:03 pm., motion carried.
