Approved Minutes

1.   CALL TO ORDER:
Bob Carlson called the Regular Meeting of the School Ad Hoc Committee to order on Monday, January 11th at 7:03 P.M.
2.  ROLL CALL:
Committee Members Present: Bob Carlson (Chairman), Chris D’Angelo (Vice-Chairman) Arthur Dobley (Recording Secretary), Jeff Frenette (Corresponding Secretary), Leslie Driscoll, Arthur Jerbert, Walter Mathwich, Julie Lanier, Brett Mastroianni, and Barbara Siner (arrived 7:25).
Committee Member Absent: Sam Cherenzia
3.  PUBLIC COMMENTS & QUESTIONS: None.
4.  ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA: None.
5.  MINUTES:
 MOTION by Julie Lanier, SECOND by Jeff Frenette, to accept the Draft Minutes of December 14, 2009 Regular Meeting & Workshop. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
6.  CORRESPONDENCE: None
7.  OLD BUSINESS:  None.
8. NEW BUSINESS:  None.
9. DISCUSSIONS: An additional meeting on February 1st was discussed to review the topic of regionalization and “school of choice” with invited participants.    
10. WORKSHOP: Mr. Jerbert very briefly spoke about Solar Energy. Questions and answers followed on the topic using information packets which Mr. Jerbert distributed. Topics of concern were: the heating efficiency of the IR heaters, current capacity of existing electrical wires in the classrooms, heating large open spaces, fresh air, solar panel location, the estimate to power the entire school, and other heating methods and energy sources. Overall there were many positive comments on solar energy, but more work needs to be done to understand it and apply it for use.
11.  ADJOURNMENT  
MOTION by Brett Mastroianni, SECOND by Walter Mathwich to adjourn the School Ad Hoc Committee Meeting at 8:25 P.M.  MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
