Faculty Workshop
Monday, July 27, 2009 – 3:00 to 5:00 P.M.
                                   Location: High School Media Center

Attendees: Leslie Driscoll, Bob Carlson, Arthur Dobley, Jeff Frenette, Chris, Sam Cherenzia, Arthur Jerbert, Veronica  Wilkison,  Sue Costa, Kira Goldenberg (The Day Newspaper), Ellie Banker, Bill Briscoe, Michael Susi, Natalie Pukas, and Brett Mastroianni (arrived 3:30).
Discussions: Topics included: history of the ad hoc school building committee, regionalization, cheapest option might not be the best option, old heating systems, inadequate space, cafeteria, science labs, physical education, more space for special services, need to offer students adequate classes, virtual classrooms, auditorium, guidance space, meeting places, universal pre-K, computer lab, bathrooms, band room, music room, tunnel, and central office space.

                                      Location: New Town Hall Conference Room

Attendees: Leslie Driscoll, Bob Carlson, Arthur Dobley, Jeff Frenette, Chris, Sam Cherenzia, Arthur Jerbert, Brett Mastroianni, Veronica  Wilkison, Michael Susi,  Natalie Pukas, Ellie Banker, Bill Briscoe, Kira Goldenberg, and Bruce King (CT QBS).
Discussions: The qualifications-based selection of design professionals for public projects. He distributed literature and discussed the stepwise process.

Ad Hoc School Building Committee Agenda

1.   CALL TO ORDER:
Chairman Bob Carlson called the Regular Meeting of the School Ad Hoc Committee to order on Monday, July 27, 2009 at 7:10 P.M.

2.  Roll Call Committee Members Present: Brett Mastroianni, Chris D’Angelo (Vice-Chairman), Sam Cherenzia, Bob Carlson (Chairman), Arthur Dobley (Recording Secretary), Arthur Jerbert, and Jeff Frenette (Corresponding Secretary).
Committee Members Absent: Leslie Driscoll and Barbara Siner,

3.  Public Comments and Questions:
Bill Briscoe volunteered to become a member of a committee to review regionalization if formed. He also suggested that a subcommittee be formed for the grant proposal.

4.   ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA: None.

5.   MINUTES:  Review minutes of July 13, 2009 meeting.  
MOTION by Brett Mastroianni, SECOND by Sam Cherenzia, to accept the Draft Minutes of July 13, 2009 with no corrections.  MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.

6.  Correspondence: None.

7.   OLD BUSINESS:  School Subcommittees are being revised.

8.   NEW BUSINESS:    None.

9. Discussions: Arthur Jerbert discussed the 3 topics and book on “The High School of the Future”, “The Middle School of the Future”, and “The Elementary School of the Future”. The topic of the Faculty Workshop involved talk on the interpretation of separate schools, and the topic of auditorium.

10.  ADJOURNMENT  
Motion by Jeff Frenette, seconded by Brett Mastroianni to Adjourn. Motion Carried Unanimously.  The Chairman closed the meeting at 8:55 PM.
