MINUTES APPROVED ~ NOVEMBER 13, 2014

 

 

1.    CALL MEETING TO ORDER:  Vice-Chair Elaine Boissevain called the Regular Meeting of the North Stonington Planning & Zoning Commission to order on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the New Town Hall, Conference Room. 

 

       COMMISSIONERS PRESENT:  Elaine Boissevain, Vice-Chair, Joseph Siner, Secretary (arrived at 7:10 p.m.), Ann Brown, Wayne Wilkinson and Alternate Members Julie Lanier and Pat Lewis    

 

       COMMISSIONERS ABSENT:   Lou Steinbrecher, Chairman, and Alternate Member Ed McGowan   

 

        STAFF PRESENT:  Sr. Planner & Zoning Official Juliet Hodge, Administrative Assistant Cheryl Konsavitch and Consultant Don Poland

 

2.  ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA:  None      

 

3.  PUBLIC COMMENT:       

 

Madeline Jeffery came before the Commission to let them know that she would like to start up the Neighborhood meetings again, and that she would like to come to the Commission’s November13th meeting to discuss this in more detail.

 

4.  PLANNING ISSUES & DISCUSSION:    

 

Zoning Regulation Update with Don Poland

 

Mr. Poland updated the Commission on the zoning regulations reorganization and modernization

 

5.  SENIOR PLANNER & ZONING OFFICIAL’S REPORT/ISSUES:   

 

 

 

 

6.  NEW APPLICATIONS:      

 

SPEC #14-079 (Special Permit) Application of HSB Partners, LLC, P.O. Box 98, North Franklin, CT  06254 for the construction of a 27,221 square foot warehouse distribution facility on property owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe at 41 Norwich-Westerly Road, North Stonington, CT  06359 in an OR/AP Zone.  Tax Map #122, Parcel #0574 (Commission to receive on 11/06/14 & schedule for PH on or by 1/09/15)

 

The Commission set the public hearing on SPEC #14-079 for December 4, 2014.

8.  NEW BUSINESS:  None 

 

9.  REVIEW MINUTES:     

 

Regular Meeting of 10/09/14

 

The Commission accepted the minutes of 10/09/14 as submitted.

 

10.  ADJOURNMENT:

 

MOTION by A. Brown, SECOND by W. Wilkinson to adjourn the meeting at 9:30 p.m.  MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
