1. CALL MEETING TO ORDER: Chairman Stewart called the Special Meeting of the North Stonington Planning & Zoning Commission to order on Thursday, August 28, 2008 at 7:03 p.m. at the New Town Hall, Conference Room.
COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: G. Russell Stewart, III, Chairman, Elaine Boissevain, Vice-Chairman, Vilma Gregoropoulos, Secretary, Louis E. Steinbrecher (arrived at 7:27 p.m.), Joseph Siner and Alternate Member Duncan Schweitzer
COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Alternate Members Ann Brown & Susan Grufstedt
STAFF PRESENT: Contracted SCCOG Planner, Jamie Rabbitt, Administrative Assistant Cheryl Konsavitch and Sr. Planner/ZEO Juliet Leeming
2. PUBLIC COMMENT REGARDING PROPOSED REVISIONS TO ZONING REGULATIONS: (30 minutes allotted & 3 minutes per speaker)
The following people spoke:
Nita Kincaid asked about a status report pertaining to the extension the moratorium.
Pat Lewis asked if the Commission would be looking at changing the lot and building size.
3. PLANNING ISSUES & DISCUSSION:
Zoning regulation discussion to include manufacturing regulations, special permits & the review of former sections.
Staff went over Sections 100 through 1300 with the Commission for input and discussion. Manufacturing and Special Permit sections were also discussed.
4. ADJOURNMENT:
MOTION by L. Steinbrecher, SECOND by V. Gregoropoulos to adjourn the special meeting at 10:47 p.m. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
