1.   CALL TO ORDER:

 

Chairman George Brown called the Regular Meeting of the Inland Wetlands Commission to order on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at 7:03 p.m.

 

COMMISSIONERS PRESENT:

 

George Brown, Chairman, Mark Grigg, Vice-Chair, Kevin Geary, Cody Bill, Duane White, and Candy Palmer

 

COMMISSIONERS ABSENTRon Lewis, Art Dobley, and Robert Miner

 

STAFF PRESENT:

 

Wayne Berardi, Wetlands Enforcement Officer and Cheryl Konsavitch, Administrative Assistant

3.   MINUTES:

 

Review minutes of regular meeting of 3/12/14

 

MOTION by D. White SECOND by M. Grigg to approve the minutes of March 12, 2014 as submitted.  MOTION CARRIED

 

C. Palmer – Abstained

 

4.   PUBLIC COMMENT

 

Mac Gray, 637 Pendleton Hill Road discussed with the Commission opening up a drainage swale on his property.  The Commission directed WEO Berardi to inspect the site with Mr. Gray to determine what he can do.

 

5.    OLD BUSINESSNone   

 

6.  NEW BUSINESS:         

 

#14-043 (Single-Family Residence) Application of John & Elizabeth Varas, 70E Reutemann Rd., N. Stonington, CT  06359 for the construction of a single-family residence on property located at 134 Sleepy Hollow Rd., N. Stonington, CT  06359 in an R-80 Zone.  Tax Map #89, Parcel #9975

 

The applicant Mr. Varas along with Gene and Donna Anderson were present for this application.

 

Mr. Anderson stated this lot was created from a free split and went over the application with the Commission.  The Commission asked Mr. Varas to have the wetlands flagged and to stake out the house location.

 

The Commission scheduled a site-walk of the property for Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 6:00 p.m.
