1. CALL TO ORDER:
Chairman Duane White called the Regular Meeting of the Inland Wetlands Commission to order on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 7:02 p.m.
COMMISSIONERS PRESENT:
Duane White, Chairman, Mark Grigg, Vice-Chairman, Ron Lewis, Kevin Geary, Arthur Dobley, George Brown and Marvin Chase, Jr.
COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Mac Gray and Robert Miner

2. ADDTIIONS TO THE AGENDA: None
3. MINUTES:
Review minutes of April 13, 2011 meeting.
MOTION by G. Brown, SECOND by R. Lewis to approve the Draft Minutes of 4/13/11 with the necessary corrections. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
4. OLD BUSINESS: None
5. NEW BUSINESS: None
6. WORKSHOP:
A. Eugene Anderson of 127 Sleepy Hollow Road to discuss an easement to Lot 1985
Mr. Anderson discussed with the Commission a woods road to be able to get to a land locked piece of property to do maintenance. The will be no impacts to the wetlands and the Commission had no issues with this request.
B. Bob Burnside of 478 Cossaduck Hill Road to discuss breach in spillway of dam
Mr. Burnside came before the Commission to discuss a breach in the dam. Mr. Burnside stated that the hole is from the rains and he would like to breach 10 to 12 feet of it. Mr. Burnside stated that he had contacted DEP and submitted a letter he received from them stating their findings on their June 22, 2010 visit to the site.
The Commission stated that DEP regulations supersede wetlands regulations, but Mr. Burnside does need to keep the Commission informed. Chairman White contacted DEP to discuss this matter and they stated that the Inland Wetlands Commission has jurisdiction over this matter.
C. Carlos Pesante of 167A Wintechog Hill Road to discuss drainage issues
Mr. Pesante came before the Commission to discuss drainage issues he has had since the rains of March 2010. Mr. Pesante stated he has been bringing dirt from his backyard and stone to fill in what the rain has washed away, but still has not completed the project.
The Commission will do a site walk of Mr. Pesante’s property on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. to review the area and offer suggestions to remedy the situation.
