1. CALL TO ORDER:
Vice-Chairman Mark Grigg called the Regular Meeting of the Inland Wetlands Commission to order on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at 7:00 p.m.
COMMISSIONERS PRESENT:
Duane White, Chairman, Mark Grigg, Vice-Chairman, George Brown, Ron Lewis, Mac Gray and D’Arcy Cleveland
COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Kevin Geary, Arthur Dobley and Robert Miner
STAFF PRESENT:
Cheryl Konsavitch, Administrative Assistant and Wayne Berardi, Wetlands Enforcement Officer
2. ADDTIIONS TO THE AGENDA: None
3. MINUTES:
Review minutes of 10/10/08 meeting.
MOTION by M. Gray, SECOND by G. Brown to approve the Draft Minutes of October 10, 2008 with the necessary corrections. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
4. PUBLIC HEARINGS: None
5. OLD BUSINESS:
A. #08-067 (Single-Family Residence) Application of William Hescock, 60 Main Street, North Stonington, CT 06359 to construct a single-family residence on property located at 62K Patricia Avenue, North Stonington, CT 06359. Tax Map #45, Parcel #8036 in an R-80 Zone.
Mr. Peter Gardner representing the applicant was not present for the meeting, but submitted revised plans for the Commission to review.
The Commission looked over the revisions and would like Mr. Gardner to be present at the Commission’s December 10, 2008 meeting.
MOTION by G. Brown, SECOND by M. Gray to table application #08-067 until the Commission’s next meeting on 12/10/08. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
B. #08-091 (Accessory/Addition) Application of James Stoveken, 601 Main Street, Ridgefield, CT 06877 to construct a tractor shed and replace 2 older sheds with one larger one and expand “A” frame house with enclosed porch, bedroom addition and larger kitchen on property located at 73S Island Road, North Stonington, CT 06359 Tax Map #45, Parcel # 7984/7708
The applicant was present for this application along with Mr. Dana Wolinski who was representing the applicant.
Mr. Wolinski went over the plan with the Commission and stated that he would need to get an engineered plan with septic design to submit for building.
MOTION by G. Brown, SECOND by M. Gray to table this application until the Commission’s December or January meeting when the applicant has his engineered site plan with septic design. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.

7. WORKSHOP:
A representative from Billings Lake came before the Commission to discuss a possible violation on Island Road. WEO Berardi stated that the activity that was done in the area is a regulated activity, but not a significant one. The Commission has scheduled a site-walk of the property on November 16, 2008 and will ask the property owner to come to the next Inland Wetlands meeting on December 10 to explain what they have done.
