Hewitt Property Committee minutes
April 21, 2009
The committee met at 7:00 at the High School Media Center. In
attendance were Bill Peterson, Eleanor Banker, Mary Cooper, Lou
Steinbrecher, Anne Nalwalk and Curt Moussie. Absent were Frank
Eppinger, Charles Steinhart V, Robbin Donahue, Brian Rathbun, Ron Lewis,
Marsha White, Kip Taylor, and Robley Evans
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and accepted. Since there
were no volunteers again to take on the work of the committee's
Secretary the Chairman will continue to do his best to act as both.
The letter from Robert Penfield was discussed and the general opinion
was favorable in principle although his proposal for Christmas tree farm
needs further discussion. The committee also felt it need a general
plot plan for the Green Gables area from Mr. Penfield.
The lease of the Dew Drop property was also discussed.
Frank Eppinger is looking into the legal aspects of the letter from Mr.
and Mrs. Kallen.
No official name for the property has yet been chosen. There is general
disagreement on this issue. Mary Cooper is working to come up with an
acceptable choice.
The idea of creating a "dog park" on the property was discussed.
Also discussed was the recent work at the dam site and field mowing.
The idea of having a band concert on the property was also proposed by a
citizen and there general agreement that this could be possible as long
as it didn't interfere with the harvesting of the hay fields.
The next meeting will be held on May 19, 2009
