Meeting called to order at 7:01 p.m.
Commissioners in Attendance Bradford Currier, Brent Woodward, Mark Perkins, Gladys Chase and/ Absent Linda Pershaec, Peter Bogoian, Marilyn Mackay and Robert Kimball.
Treasurer Robert Kimball, was absent. Copy of treasurer’s report was reviewed.
Reviewed the Secretary’s minutes of November 19, 2009.
Presentation by Southeastern CT Enterprise Region (seCTer): Deborah Donovan, Director of Marketing made a presentation to the Economic Development Commission on what’s happening in the Region and what is New in 2010 as well as shared with us the “New” Marketing CD on why Business / Industries should consider South East Connecticut as a place to build or expand their Business.
OLD BUSINESS:
1) Update - The Community Health Center: Westerly Hospital is anticipating open an Affiliated, nonprofit Community Health Center in North Stonington, CT, Providing, Urgent Care, Primary Care and Physical Therapy. The project was approved.
2) Update - Milltown Commons; “A New England Style Hamlet”, North Stonington, CT; “Where we are today” Follow-up and discussion.
3) North Stonington Business Assoc held their meeting January 20, 2010. Brad Currier attended and reports that the BA has voted to give the Economic Development Chairman an honorary sit.
4) No follow up on Infrastructure/ sewers.
NEW BUSINESS:
1) EDC 2010 – 2011 Proposed budget was discussed and will be given to Board of Finance.
