Meeting Called to Order: 7:00 P.M. BY Chairman Brad Currier



Commissioners in Attendance Peter Bogoian, Robert Boissevain, Marilyn Mackay, Brad Currier, Linda Pershaec ,Brent Woodward and Absent Robert Kimball and Mark Perkins

Review of minutes:

August 20, 2009 (presentation, discussion & vote) Motion made by Brent Woodward seconded by Marilyn Mackay to accept minutes. Vote passed



OLD BUSINESS:

Community Health Center : Westerly Hospital , is anticipating opening an Affiliated, nonprofit Community Health Center in North Stonington , CT , Providing, Urgent Care, Primary Care and Physical Therapy.

Follow-up & discussion took place.

Marilyn will email out copies of the letter to people in town. They may fax them to Jeanne LaChance or drop them off at the town hall in the EDC box.



Milltown Commons ; “A New England Style Hamlet ” , North Stonington , CT ; “Where we are today” Follow-up and discussion.

Alan Pesch, Janet Fiore, and Robert Hayward attended the meeting to answer questions from the commission.

Questions were sewerage cost to town, traffic pattern on route two, percentage of affordable housing, how many children will this bring to town, can mixed housing work.

After discussion on these questions Robert Boissevain made motion that Chairman Currier get up at the hearing on Oct1 and voice the reasons economically that we support this plan. Linda Pershaec seconded the motion .

OLD BUSINESS : Continued



The vote was two for the motion, one against it and two abstentions. Chairman supports the motion but only votes to brake a tie.





EDC web site demographics have been changed



North Stonington Business Assoc. First meeting was held at the Lower Farm fifteen people attended the meeting. They have twelve paid members to date. Next meeting will be at “Time to Cook” on Oct 20.



North Stonington Infrastructure/sewers report participation Brad reported that they have started the study which will take ninety days.



NEW BUSINESS:

Up coming Election; EDC Commission and Board candidates will attend the candidate forum on Saturday October 10 10-1:30 at the Wheeler Gymatorium.



Next month meeting Oct 15 th we will have Tony Sheridan and Bruce MacDonald from the Commerce of Eastern Connecticut.



CORRESPONDENCE:

Cedas workshop Sept 29 and Oct 29 th for new members.





Motion to adjourn made by Linda Pershaec and seconded by Robert Boissevain.
