Minutes                                                            
 
 Meeting Called to Order at 7:07 p.m.
 
 Members present: Robert Boissevain, Brent Woodward, Marilyn Mackay, Bradford Currier. Members absent: Linda Pershaec, Robert Kimball, Peter Bogoian and Mark Perkins.
                       
Treasurer’s report: none available
 
 December 18, 2008 minutes were discussed and accepted without change.
 
OLD BUSINESS:
 
EDC’s  Public Survey will be removed from agenda. 
 
EDC Retention Program Commissioners feedback / Follow-up ( Discussion & update ) Marilyn  has spoken to or left messages for business owners in Holly Green. The other Commissioners have not made contact yet.
 
Town Signage (Update from Selectmen’s Office) all signs are available and locations decided. When weather permits they will be installed.
 
EDC web site (updates) Marc Tate is still working on the webpage. We are trying to get a business page or a link to a page. The map needs to be finished and updated as well as adding other links such as EDDIE , CEDA, etc.
 
RCCD Regulations & exhibits (discussion and suggestions) EDC should have a meeting to discuss these regulations. P&Z has some ideas but would like EDC feedback.
 
North Stonington Affordable Housing Advisory Committee (NSAHAC) affordable housing survey results: Marilyn Mackay (discussion and suggestions) Marilyn reported that they are working on some legal questions. They had a 13% return from the survey.
 

 

EDC Business letter / survey mailing and the need to obtain a USPS Bulk
     Mailing Permit, update, hand-outs, (discussion and suggestions) The bulk permit was purchased and 3,338 surveys were mailed out. As of January 15th they received 19 responses.
 
NEW BUSINESS:
 
Our gratitude was expressed to Robert Boissevain as the out going officer; Bob stepped down as Vice Chairperson. “Thank you” for the time, effort, and motivation in reaching our goals for 2008 year.   
We welcome the new Vice Chairperson Brent Woodward.
 
Marilyn Mackay volunteered to be EDC representative for North Stonington Agriculture Steering Committee. Marilyn will email minutes of this meeting.
 
  Brad Currier met with a representative of Planning and Zoning Commission. He reported they had a positive meeting.
 
CORRESPONDENCE:
Eastern Chamber of Commerce bill was submitted. Town doesn’t have money in budget for the dues. EDC does not want to keep membership. It was not used by them in the past.
