Reviewed minutes of June meeting.  Motion to accept  made by Linda Pershaec 2nd by Brent Woodward. Passed with one abstention.

Old business:
EDC Retention Program:
The sub committee will meet on July 21, 2008 at the Truck Stop. The original group is Brent W., Brad C., Marilyn M and Peter B.

Town Signage:
Two signs were purchased for $2000. the other $4000 went back to general fund.

EDC website:
Marc Tate is working on it.

EDC public survey:
Marilyn Mackay said that she thought the survey could be done in house. The price of having the survey done by an outside company seemed like an unneeded expense.
The affordable housing survey went out and it was done by local volunteers.
Bob B.  Asked who will be interpreting the surveys when they are returned?
How can it stay unbiased?

New business:
Question came up about the Assessors website.  Funds cannot be transferred from EDC account to Assessors.  The good news is that the mapping is again on line as of July 1st.

EDC needs to stay on top of what the Planning and Zoning Commission is doing at the current meetings. We need to make sure that changes that were made in the regulations don’t get changed back or disallowed.

August EDC meeting will be dedicated to zoning regulations.
All members need to go over regulations and come in with suggestions  and any questions.
Talk about uses; give examples of what you think the town will welcome, what flexibility could be allowed.
Promote what will work in town and point out the good aspects in tourism.
Protect the regulations in the CD zone, A2 area, Fisher Control, etc. list uses.
Discuss ideas on RCCD zone that would fit in with Ledyard and Preston.

Motion to adjourn was made by Peter B. and 2nd by Linda P.
Meeting adjourned 8:25 p.m.

Respectfully submitted
