Meeting Minutes of October 20, 2016

CALL TO ORDER
Call to order at 7:30 PM by Chairman Ryan Burdick
Old Business:
Continued review of October 14, 2016 95% drawings.
DRAWINGS
1. Exterior lighting plan needed for review by Town Planner, light plan in set does not show lumens layout.
Sheet E203a is missing. All of this information is needed for Planning and Zoning approval and to update and record for land records.
2. Flagpole location – discussed and resolved
3. C 3” water pipe – Peter is taking care of this.
4. (C3 and P100) Grease trap detail does not coordinate with the Plumbing Plan
5. C6 - revise bollards w/chains – done by SP&A
6. C6 - trench detail 14 coordination – done
7. Revised kitchen detail – appears to be correct.
Appliance detail needs to be checked.
Double wall, south side – answered 10/24
Will pot rack fit in desired location now that there is a jog in the wall?
Commercial fridge not required
What appliances are being included in the spec book?
8. A1.0 – duct return thru fire wall OK? – resolved
9. A1 – eliminate gear racks in bays – done
10. A1.0 – single interior door @ NW corner of Rm 106 – done
11. A1.0 – wall mounted desk in bay area between rooms 123/124 – done-included in spec book.
12. A4.0 - 3 rows of glass on front bay doors – single row glass rear bay doors. Bottom 3 rows solid both front and back
13. A5.0 and A6.0 – eliminate 3’ concrete stem wall at gable end of building.
Done – however, still shows in the building detail section (A5.0), but has been changed in the wall detail section (A6.0).
14. A6.0 and A6.1 - Show insulation detail in slab as called out under A6.0. – appears to have been done
15. 6.1 - replace gooseneck lighting w/LED wall packs – appears to have been replaced with sconce lights. Spec is correct, drawing appears wrong. Request cut sheet for new fixture on exterior over bays.
16. Show revised kitchen detail – done
17. P001 – Symbols for drains don’t’ match symbols on drawing. (More concerned w/electric symbols.)
18. P101 – Exterior hose bibs – see exterior sketch. Should be located at NW corner, on N facing wall. NE corner on N wall – appear to have been included.
19. P102- Hose reels – reduce from 4 to 3 by removing 2nd reel going south.
20. P101 –¾”cold water and ½’ compressed air connections at end walls (see 6/15/15 bid pkg.) Still shown at end, not centered. Outside hose bib at SW corner add one inside at same location.
21. P201 – Pressure booster - Spec book needs to direct contractor not to order this until they coordinate w/SCWA.
22. P201 – symbols at front entrance. – OK
23. E001 – lighting – ok
24. E101 – bay lighting changed to pendant. What does D. Stein mean by “hot spots” w/these?
25. E101 – is there low level lighting in the halls? Can high level lighting be activated w/occupancy sensors? How is hall lighting activated?
26. E101 – Please provide manual overrides for occupancy sensors at all locations. Delete occupancy sensors and replace with manual switches in the following:
Rm 124, Rm 127, Rm129
Add manual switch in the following locations:
Rm 122, Rm 123
Include manual switch in SCBA room
27. Consider acid resistant sanitary waste pipe in DeCon room?
28. E101 –- Rm 106 what do dimmer switches control? – done
29. E101 - single switch at the bottom of stairs to control mezzanine lighting – done
30. E101 – Verify emergency lighting where required – SP&A states not necessary. Lighting controlled by generator.
31. Wall mounted occupancy sensor symbol has been used for ceiling mounted fixture.
32. E101 – Low occupancy lighting should be provided at overhead doors, front and rear bays. How will night lighting of bays be provided w/new pendent lighting? Did SP&A consider cost difference between pendent lights and originally proposed lighting?
33. 4 duplex outlets in bays – done
34. T101 – Include call box at front entrance (Rocky Hollow side) to be connected with Groton Fire Alarm.
35. Eliminate key readers at all doors. Cut sheet for current touch pads needed. Charlie can get this to Peter.
Johnson’s Hardware has proprietary spec.
36. Install touch pad at SCBA room
37. Include information in spec for contractor to remove siren from existing building and relocate it to the new facility. New location either at roof ridge or on antenna. SP&A needs information on antenna.
38. What is the status of the building code waiver?
PROJECT MANUAL
1. 211313 – 2 ½” Siamese fitting must remain
2. Booster pump in general water – needs wording for contractor to coordinate w/SCWA before ordering. It may not be needed.
3. Can ductile iron be used rather than PVC
4. 22113-9 - SCWA has given approval for PVC , this needs to get to SP&A
5. 22112-11 Distinction between and public sewer, should not be an issue.
6. 224212-13-2 Auto-flush valves not included for toilets/urinals.
7. Consider acid resistant plumbing in DeCon room
8. 236000-1 SP&A needs OK on tailpipe exhaust system. Charlie indicated that proposed system is correct.
9. 260519 Do proposed power and cable meet needs?
10. Generator has been changed to natural gas. Why is the gas pipe for this outside of the building?

11. 264113 – Lightening protection to be eliminated.
12. Unclear on spec whether or not bollards are illuminated. Lighting not wanted on bollards in front of bays, delete luminary lighting.
13. Only test borings included are the original 9. Updated information on all borings needed in both drawings and spec book.
14. 31100 – Earth Works – is it still necessary for all of this to be included in specs?
15. Ceiling mounted security cameras – is Committee satisfied with locations? SP&A needs to know
16. Phone jacks in bays should be 48” off of floor.
17. No motorized screen in meeting room
18. Universal ceiling mount for projector in meeting room
19. Antenna – Can SP&A fit to location by moving generator and transformer?
20. Question running pipe to training pad for future gas/electric expansion to that location
