MINUTES
May 28,2015@6pm

Meeting called to order by Chairman Bill Ricker  at 6:07.  
Present: Bill Ricker, Warren Speh, Mike Charnetski, Tony Rose,
Absent:  Richard Blodgett and Marc Jaffen.
Guest:    David Keehn from Long Pond Commons

March meeting minutes were accepted as written.
David Keehn explained that Long Pond Commons was a group of people with local ties that recently created a non-profit to preserve open space in the area, primarily around Long Pond in Ledyard and North Stonington. They are interested in working with the Conservation Commission and other land trust organizations  to accomplish this mission. It was agreed to maintain contact,  David can be reached at 518-506-6221. He was invited to sit in for the rest of the meeting.
It was noted that Town Attorney Frank Eppinger would be entering into the land record that 5.5 acres of Parcel #5251 has an Administrative Caveat placed on it so any salewould need to  recognize that parcel needs to be turned over to the Town
The proposed land trade off Ravenswood behind the Emergency Service complex had not moved forward. Ricker brought it before the BOS who agreed to discuss and get back to him.
Chairman Ricker received a complaint concerning tree cutting on RTE 2 near the Hewitt Farm and believed it was warranted as in a drive by with the First Selectman they noted in excess of 20 trees were marked for removal. The six  blocking safe site line exiting off Hewitt Rd were supported being removed. Those being diseased or otherwise leaning over the wores we had no control over. Several others were asked not to be cut – and were not .
It was agreed to note on the sign at the Stewart Hill Preserve Trail that both hikers and equestrians would be sharing the trail and to use caution.  Mike would be leading the hike on CT Trails Day (6June).
Members were encouraged to complete yearly monitoring as soon as possible. The ZEO was contacted regarding removed CE signs at Billings Lake properties. The land owner agreed to inform the CC if they were again “removed.”.  Signs  were replaced.
Parcels #8101 and #1857 on Wyassup Road had CE inspection completed and material going to Nita Kincaid to develop files.  
Discussion of acceptable CE’s tabled until next meeting.

Preamble reviewed for 2016 Town Calendar.  Chairman Ricker passed around photographs for members to choose to be in calendar, theme being homes and businesses displaying the US flag.
E-mails concerning tree cutting along roads forwarded to BOS.
Mike Crutchley invited to attend CC meeting as he shared with Marc Tate he’d be interested in serving on the CC, but he was not present.
Meeting adjourned at 8:10 pm.
