Review of June minutes accepted as written.

Correspondence:
  • No correspondence
Ongoing/Old Business:
  • Rocky Hollow Recreation Area – No response as yet from DEEP.   Suggestion made to escalate matter to State Rep. Diana Urban’s attention and enlist her support.
  • Stewart Hill trail: Need to place signage and open the lower section of the property. Should consider Oct/Nov date for work if weather in Sept is not cooperative.
  • RE: 5.5 acres south of the rotary on Rte. 2 to be deeded to the town, Nick responded to Bill’s BOS letter stating there was nothing in the deed to validate the claim. Richard examined the land records and found subdivision map recorded in NS map records on March 10, 1989 with reference to open space set-aside for Town. Awaiting response from e-mail to atty Eppinger.
  • Letter sent to Sharon Stewart 6-19-14 regarding 85 ac. parcel on north side of Wyassup Lake.
  • Letters sent to Morris family (parcel #8101) and Carroll family (parcel # 1857) on Wyassup Lake Rd regarding the signage of their CE’s.  Agreed to wait until after leaf fall in October.
  • Stewart trust letter – no updates.
  • CE monitoring: agreed to divide ~18 properties among Commissioners for monitoring.  Properties to be assigned to Commissioners at Sept meeting.
  • Re: notification of owners of 26 desired parcels, agreed that we should draft tailored correspondence to each parcel owner.  Bill and Marc to work on draft and circulate at next meeting.  Marc to inquire whether Bob Fleury still has file.
New Business:
  • Calendar – agreed that CC should try and schedule a workshop earlier than Sept meeting.  Bill to share photos and Commissioners to provide comment on Calendar text then.  Contact Avalonia, Historical Society, etc. for relevant dates to include in Calendar.  Richard to check whether NS Camera Club has any images for inclusion in calendar.
  • CT Hiking Guide in NL Day/website: support for including NS trails in guide.  Marc took action to contact Day and find out what information they need.
Meeting adjourned @ 7:30 pm
