NORTH STONINGTON CONSERVATION COMMISSION
REGULAR MEETING at New Town Hall
February 13, 2014 @ 6:00 pm

Call to Order @ 6:07 pm
Present:  Mike Charnetski, Bill Ricker, Dick Blodgett (7:10)
Minutes of January 23, 2014 reviewed and approved.

Citizens Comments:
Van Brown – Concern of how Marc Jaffan would represent himself as a conservation commission member when speaking of Firefly Farm. Bill stated any person elected or appointed to an office continues to have the right to voice their opinion on any subject. If one invokes their affiliation as their representative and is speaking on their behalf, they must have the approval of the organization.

Ongoing Business:
  • Letter sent to First Selectman and Selectman asking for approval and action on Conservation Commission’s desire to obtain land owned by State of CT at the Rocky Hollow rec area. Commission will wait till after March meeting to hear from BOS before pushing the issue.
  • Community Calendar – Sales to date $2200. of $2900 loan. As of 3/1 sale price reduced to $5.  Bill sent to BOS and BOF with notification the money has been returned to the general fund. No response from Agjo Printing on new calendar price.  Will check with Minute Man Printing. The Day printing department also suggested to investigate.
  • Peter Block – letter sent 2/26 from Atty. Eppinger re:  property passage license.
  • No response from Sharon Stewart trust letter.
New Business:
  • Revisions to Town map reviewed with additions and corrections made.
  • Yearly agenda, look at PCRL and Bill to ask Robin if letter about Assekonk reviewed by Selectman.
  • Trail work needs – Date of April 26 & 27 for trail work crew at Stillman Hill Preserve. Bill to send out an e-mail to volunteers to hold the date.
  • Review of PDRL goals and yearly agenda postponed till quorum present
Correspondences:  Completed and approved POCD plan handed out.
Next meeting: March 27, 2014 @ 6:00.
