The New Town Hall Conference Room

Minutes
a. Workshop with P&Z was called to order by Chairman of P&Z, Russell Stewart. Present from conservation commission- Dick Blodgett, Bob Fleury and Paige Brooks.
b. Workshop with Planning and Zoning conducted regarding the Plan of Conservation and Recreation Lands.
1. The P&Z had a few questions, but overall they were in agreement with the ideas and recommendations put forth in the plan. They will review and revise where appropriate and conduct public hearings as required. They were interested to hear the ideas for affordable housing and the villa concept which were cut from the plan, but still pertinent to the work P&Z is doing during the moratorium.
2. After the workshop, citizens were allowed to comment on the Plan. Those in support of the Plan mentioned the importance of farming in North Stonington, and that P&Z should use the maps as a tool when developers submit applications for projects. Others commented about the focus areas, and were not in favor of dividing the town up into pieces.
c. The workshop with P&Z was adjourned at 7:20pm.
d. Our regular conservation commission meeting was called to order at 7:25pm.
1. Minutes from May will be approved at our next regular meeting on August 22nd.
2. There were no citizens present, therefore no citizen comments.
3. No officer or committee reports were given at this time.
