Mission: For the development, conservation, supervision, and regulation of natural and historic resources, including water resources, within its territorial limits. (adopted September 2007)

Citizen Comments

Ongoing Business:

  • Letter to WPCA on sewer issues sent – no response
  • Letter to MPTN Natural Resources Committee – we’re on agenda, but their mtg postponed
  • Land trade update: Ravenswood v. Assekonk East – no response from BOS
  • Stewart Hill Preserve: Done, new trail signs in place. Need to get The Day to cover.
  • Wyassup Lake Road CE’s: Parcel #8101 and #1857 folders – still on hold
  • CE yearly monitoring – Need to complete.
Presently: Sacco Subdivision & Shunock Estates
Four other properties need monitoring:
Anna Farm Estates (5 parcels totaling 26.38 ac.)
Shunock/Mains Crossing  (4 parcels totaling 11 ac.) – question of markers
Lake of Isles (3 parcels totaling 109 ac.) contact: Jim Ritorto 860-312-2092
Lakeview West Subdivision (5 parcels totaling 17 ac.) – no markers



New Business:

  • Pesticides, herbicides  & fertilizer use by lake and pond side residents – Steve & Mike to report
      Gypsy Moth egg cases

  • Contacting DEEP to cut a trail from Stewart Hill Preserve to Blue Trail – Application sent
  • Plan site walk of Chester Main Bridle Trail
  • Notable Trees – need a commissioner to join Bill in taking measurements
  • Ct State Police shooting range - Jeffery
