                                             Board of Selectmen Meeting

                                            New Town Hall Conference Room

                                                      April 25, 2017

                                                                  7:00 PM

 

MINUTES

 

            1.    Call to Order/ Roll Call-First Selectman Murphy called the meeting to order at 7:03 PM with all Selectmen present.

2.    Pledge of Allegiance

3.    School Modernization

                          Construction Manager at Risk RFP-A motion was made by First Selectman Murphy and seconded by Selectman Donahue to approve the School Modernization project RFP for a Construction Manager at Risk, carrying.  3-0

                        Project Update-Mike Urgo and Architect Rusty Malik reviewed plans and timeline.

4.     Plan of Conservation and Development Action Plan-Reviewed with details and action items for Board of Selectmen to review and discuss.

5.     Special Town Meeting-Results-Both items below passed at the meeting April 24th.

            Town Clerk Ordinance

            CNR Funds Transfer

6.    Brush Truck Purchase Update-Review of proposed contract Board agreed it must meet Town specifications and bid documents.

7.    Project Updates

            Sewer Study-First Selectman Murphy reviewed letter sent to Stonington regarding mutual interest, recapping average daily flow, and buy in and capital options.  Currently awaiting a response.

            Village Waterline-Because of DOT requirements and stop light devices, an

             addendum will be issued for a change to the Route 2 crossing.

            Town Hall Painting-OTH/NTH painting will begin early June

            Assessor’s Office Renovations-Scheduled for next week, painting, carpet

             and new furniture are included in the project.

            Retaining Wall Repointing-Working with local stone mason, scope to be

             Determined.

            Hewitt Dam-Warranty work is being reviewed with engineer

            Jet Shed-Final building is complete except for electrical.

            Recreation Area Bathrooms-Upgrade to ADA compliance and outside

             entrances

            Pocket Park-Mr. Ricker from Conservation Commission is working on

              Pocket Park design for Route 49 and Route 184 intersection-Welcome to

              North Stonington.

8.     Correspondence-First Selectman Shawn Murphy submitted a copy of a letter

         that he had provided to his party committee stating that he would not be

        seeking re-election in November

9.     Minutes-A motion was made by First Selectman Murphy and seconded by

         Selectman Donahue to approve the minutes of April 11, 2017, carrying.  3-0
