                                     Special Board of Selectmen Meeting

                                            New Town Hall Conference Room

                                                    March 7, 2017

                                                                  7:00 PM

 

MINUTES                      

 

1.      Call to Order/ Roll Call-First Selectman Murphy called the meeting to order at

7:00 PM with Selectman Donahue and Mullane present.

2.    Pledge of Allegiance

3.    FY 2017-2018 Budget

·                  Lake Associations-Steve Colgan, Lake Billings, John Wiellette, Wyassup Lake,

               and  Bill Hixson , Blue Lake, were in to represent the Lake Associations.

              Letters from 151 lake residents were given to the Board.  A $15,000 line

              item in the upcoming budget was requested to assist the Lakes in weed

              control (milfoil).

·      Hewitt Farm Committee-Co-Chairs presented the budget for

FY 17-18

·      Recreation Commission-Director Tom Fabian presented budget for

                          FY 17-18.

·      General Review and Discussion of Draft Budget-General Discussion,

       no  action.

5.    NSVFC Brush/Forestry Truck Additional Appropriation-Chief Steinhart,

       President Gary Baron and member Jim Tuttle, Truck Committee Chairman,

       came to the Board to request an additional appropriation of $19,700 for the

       proposed Brush Truck purchase due to the fact that the bids came in over the

       budgeted $135,000.  Selectman Mark Donahue made a motion to approve the

       added funds, no second, no vote.  Selectman Mullane suggested waiting until

       after the EMS Center bids come in and at the time will revisit request.

6.   Future Town Meeting Items-No action

7.   Minutes-A motion was made by Selectman Donahue to approve the minutes

     of February 28, 2017, seconded by Selectman Murphy, carrying.  3-0

8.    Tax Refund(s)-A motion was made by First Selectman Murphy and seconded by

       Selectman Donahue to approve the following tax refunds:
