                                                              7:00 PM

MINUTES

 

1.      Call to Order/ Roll Call-7:06 PM with First Selectman Murphy and Selectmen Donahue and Mullane present.

2.      Pledge of Allegiance

3.      Public Comments and Questions-Brad Borden commented on State finances and the fact the school bonding funds are being cut, do we know if this will effect North Stonington’s applications?

4.      Correspondence

5.      Minutes- A motion was made by Selectman Mullane and seconded by Selectman Donahue to approve the minutes of the May 10, 2016 Selectmen’s meeting as amended, carrying.  3-0

6.      NSAA Run Status Report-No response from NSAA president Elias to Selectmen’s request to attend this meeting.

7.      Projects Update-First Selectman Murphy gave an overview of the STEAP waterline extension project, sewer study, water study and street numbering projects that are ongoing.

8.      2016-2017 Budget Status –After general discussion the First Selectman Murphy made a motion to forward several reductions to the FY 2016-17 budget in the following line items, seconded by Selectman Donahue, carrying.  3-0

Elections and Town Meetings B21.02                  $5,000

Board of Assessment Appeals B  5.0                     $    500

Inland Wetlands Commission Expenses B17.0   $    500

9.      Transfer Request to Tribal Recognition Account-A motion was made by Selectman Donahue and seconded by Selectman Murphy to request a transfer for B9.01 Tribal Recognition in the amount of $12,000 from B10.01 Wages Admin Asst. $2,500, B6.01 Wages Clerical $5,000, B20.04 Social Security $4,500, carrying.  3-0

10.  School Modernization Project Discussion and Committee Appointments- Review of Ordinance and Selectman Murphy to provide resolution as per

Ordinance to appoint School Building Committee.

11.  Public Comments and Questions

12.   Union Negotiations Update (Executive Session)-A motion was made by

   Selectman Mullane and seconded by Selectman Donahue to enter executive

   session at 9:07 PM, carrying 3-0 Session out at 9:30 PM.  No action taken

13.   Adjournment-A motion was made by Selectman Murphy to adjourn at 9:31

  PM, seconded by Selectman Donahue, carrying.  3-0
