                                            Board of Selectmen Special Meeting

                                     New Town Hall Conference Room

                                                        June 21, 2016

                                                              7:00 PM

 

MINUTES

 

 

1.             Call to Order/ Roll Call-7:03 PM with First Selectman Murphy

  and Selectmen Mullane and Donahue present.

2.      Pledge of Allegiance

3.      Public Comments and Questions-None presented

4.      Correspondence

                        Extension requests to the State for the Water Study (STEAP)

                        US Department of Interior Historic Pequot request for

                        reconsideration denied.

5.      Minutes-

·      A motion was made by Selectman Donahue and

          seconded by Selectman Mullane to approve the minutes of May

          24, 2016, carrying, 3-0

·      A motion was made by Selectman Donahue and seconded by

          Selectman Mullane to approve the minutes of May 26, 2016,

          carrying, 3-0

·      A motion was made by Selectman Mullane and seconded by Selectman Murphy to approve the Joint Meeting minutes of May 26, 2016, carrying.  2-0-1 Selectman Donahue abstained

·      A motion was made by Selectman Donahue and seconded by Selectman Mullane to approve the minutes of May 31, 2016, carrying. 3-0

6.      NSAA Run Status Report-Unable to contact Brian Elias, President.

7.      FY2016-2017 Budget –Referendum Results (June 20, 2016)

                          a.  Discussion and Possible Action on FY 16-17 mill rate-

CGS 12-123-After a general discussion the Board decided not to set the mill rate at this time and to wait for direction from the Board of Finance and possible reductions.

8.      Joseph Moran request to takeover Streetlight (Eversource)

 Invoicing.  After general discussion, it was decided that it was

not a good idea  to assume the costs, First Selectman Murphy

 will inform Mr. Moran.

9.    Public Comments and Questions-None presented.

10.    Union Negotiations Update (Executive Session)-A motion was made at 8:02 PM by First Selectman Murphy and seconded by Selectman Donahue to enter into executive session, carrying.  Out of session at 8:30 PM no actions taken.

11.    Adjournment-8:45 PM
