MINUTES

Call to Order-7:00 PM with Selectman Mullane, Testa, and Donahue present

Public Comments and Questions-Joe Gross disagrees with tax reduction for affordable housing.  Question on status of historical Greene Gables House from Historical Society.

Minutes-A motion was made by Selectman Donahue and seconded by Selectman Mullane to approve the minutes of August 18, 2015, as amended, carrying.  3-0

•            1.  Tax Refund(s)-None

•            2.  Tribal Acknowledgement/Annexation Issues –North Stonington, Preston and Ledyard working on letter to Connecticut Senators on what is wrong with draft legislation in U. S. Senate.

•            3.   Status of Center for Emergency Services Project

o            Bid Results Phase II Construction-  Accept or Reject?-Rejected and preparing for rebid

o            Tentative Schedule for Phase II-Not available yet

•            4.   Tri-Board Meetings-School Modernization Meeting – August 27, 2015

o            Reactivation of Ad Hoc School Committee Appointments-Eight Members appointed, 3 more could be appointed as auxiliary members if required.

•            11.  Action of Petition Received-Petition received to To hear and act upon the creation of an Ordinance in accordance with Connecticut General Statutes 9-188 titled“Election of a First Selectman for the Town of North Stonington”  that states commencing with the election of November 3, 2015 and with every biennial regular town election thereafter, votes cast for a candidate for First Selectman shall count for that office only.  Votes cast for an unsuccessful candidate for First Selectman shall not be counted as votes for that candiate as a member of the Board of Selectman.
