Mr. Oat has sent a letter to the AG requesting that the Tillman-Brown family not be allowed on the property until legal matters are settled.  Mr. Oat has requested the AG stop all activity on the property.  This has to come to an end, stated Mr. Oat
He noted the land was donated to the YMCA for recreation.  The deed contained a stipulation that should the Norwich YMCA cease to exist, the land would revert to the Town for open space.
Brown family has insisted that the land was sold to the YMCA not donated, and that there was no charitable intent.  Mr. Oat disputed that the land was given to the YMCA.  They know that if the YMCA ceased to exist, the town would be a good steward of the land.
