                                              Regular Meeting

                                                                        7:00 PM

 

MINUTES

Call to Order -7:00 PM with Selectmen Mullane and Donahue.  Selectman Murphy arrived at 7:35 PM, after the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center Meeting.

Public Comments and Questions

Minutes-A motion was made by Selectman Murphy and seconded by Selectman Mullane to approve the minutes of March 14, 2013, carrying.  2-0-1 Selectman Donahue abstaining.

A motion was made by Selectman Murphy and seconded by Selectman Donahue to approve the minutes of March 12, 2013, carrying.  3-0

The minutes of March 6, 2013, were tabled for further action.

Correspondence


Old Business-


1.     Tribal Issues-Acknowledgement Issues-The United States House of Representatives had a hearing and new Secretary of BIA testified on tribal recognition and that the criteria will be revised and probably relaxed.  It was not clear if previously denied grouped would be reconsidered.

   2.   Subdivision Review and Planning and Zoning Issues

            Affordable Housing/Incentive Housing regulations-Notice that PZC would like a resolution on grant request, will be on agenda for March 26th.

   3.   Permanent School Building Project Committee

            A. Permanent School Planning and Building Committee Projects

                        1.  Things to Do List-No new data

                        2.  Sealing of Gymatorium, Final Wall-No new data

                        3.  Failed Boiler at the Middle School-No new data

   4.  96/96A Button Road- formerly -YMCA Property-Executive Session-Question by Mrs. Brown (owner) “Why is town continuing to waste town funds and did not take the $100,000 settlement offer?”  Selectmen had no comment.

 

 

   5.  Hewitt property

            A.  Committee Report-Receipt and review of Historical Society proposal for Greene Gables House

            B.  Dam Repairs-Re-Engineering-Bid specifications are being prepared

   6.  Boombridge Road Bridge- Design-Waiting on ConnDOT approval of revised design requiring variances.

   7.  Grant applications/administration

            Water Study Ex. 92 X I95-Review team met on March 15th and has 2nd meeting scheduled for March 22nd to pick firms to be interviewed.

            2013 STEAP Grant-No new information on OPM awards

            Tax Refunds/Tax Collections-No new information

            Planning and Zoning-Lou Steinbrecher and Juliet Leeming were present to review budget proposals

            EDC-No one in attendance will invite for next week.

            NSVFC-No one in attendance will invite next week.
