MINUTES

Regular Meeting

 

Call to Order -7:00 PM with Selectmen Mullane, Donahue, and Murphy.  Also in attendance were Lt. Samuel Izzarelli, MSgt. Michael Thomas and TFC Tom Fabian of the Connecticut State Police, Troop E.

Public Comments and Questions-Joe Gross commented on survey results and the need for a more timely BOE monthly reporting system and a year end control of spending ordinance.

New Business items-About 50 residents attended to address police issues including the:

     Neighborhood Crime Watches

     Recent Town Burglaries

     Speeding on Town Roads

     Police communication and recommendations of corrective actions

Minutes-A motion was made by Selectman Donahue and seconded by Selectman Murphy to approve the minutes of September 11, 2012, carrying.  3-0

3. Permanent School Building Project Committee

     A. Permanent School Planning and Building Committee Project-Sealing Contract for Gymatorium had been provided and will be executed with a signature.

4. 96/96A Button Road- formerly -YMCA Property-Executive Session-No executive session, no report

5. Kingswood/Meadow Wood drainage-Arbitration has been delayed until late October

6. Hewitt property –We will provide a dumpster for the Cabin clean out

     A. Committee Report-September 24th the Historical Society presentation on Fred Stewart Greene’s collection of glass plate negatives.

     B. Dam Repairs-Re-Engineering-DEEP has issued permit for Town to rebuild dam on Hewitt Property.

7. Boombridge Road Bridge- Designwork is continuing

     Inland Wetlands Commission-A motion was made by Selectman Murphy and seconded by Selectman Donahue to reappoint Ronald Lewis, Kevin Geary and Robert Miner to a five year term for the Inland Wetlands Commission to expire September 18, 2017, and

a vacancy that exists on the Inland Wetlands Commission to appoint Candance Palmer to fill it for a five year term thru September 18, 2017, carrying.  3-0

10. Flood Damage Status Report/Repairs Update/ Action Items

     Main Street Bridges-Draft letter to contractor was given to Board for review and comments regarding construction delays.

     Village Green Bridge-No report

11. Budget 2011-12 Year End Transfers and Additional Appropriations-No action

12. Budget 2012-13-Budget Revisions-No action

3. SECOG Hazardous Mitigation Plan Resolution-  Approved but will not be signed until FEMA  approves COGs Resolution
