MINUTES
Call to Order-Called to order at 7:00 PM with Selectmen Mullane, Murphy and Briscoe present.;
Public Comments and Questions-Ed Scarchilli questioned the inability to get volunteers for the North Stonington Volunteer Fire Company and the prospect of hiring per diem staff. He noted that budgets always seem to go up, and the Fire Company does not seem to work very hard. Chief Steinhart arrived to answer questions of qualifications and commitment to being a volunteer fire fighter.

Affordable Housing/Incentive Housing regulations-Selectmen asked if committee/PZC are looking to use Town land for Affordable Housing sites. Selectman Mullane will investigate.

B. Permanent School Planning and Building Committee Project- Flashing on Gymatorium-Architect is working on Phase II specs and sealing of building

E. PSBC- New list of projects-PSPBC is reviewing and estimating job costs

12. Budget FY 2010-2011
Ambulance Association-General discussion with President Brian Elias, noting that budget will be short and the Association will be forced to shut down. Mr. Murphy question policy of Association of not paying invoices monthly and incurring late fees, Mr. Elias did not feel there was a problem.

13. Flood Damage Status Report/Repairs Update/ Action Items
Main Street Bridges-Public Hearing Results-Item was moved to #1 for action. Mr. Blodgett did not get full size drawings, not enough detail wants full size drawings to study watershed areas to mitigate waterflow. Mac Turner, Main Street, commented on cost between twin and single arch bridges, twin arch could be a considerable additional cost. Shelley Gardella has concern of flooding downstream onto her property off Babcock Road. Joe Gross felt there was enough information to make decision, we need to speed up process. We are talking about same things over and over, he asked the Selectman to move the process forward. The Selectmen were in favor of the repair of the Village Green Bridge and a single arch bridge
at the Town Hall. Selectman Mullane will go to Board of Finance to promote approval and additional appropriation funding of $177,377 for design and engineering.
