MINUTES

 

Call to Order-7:00 PM with Selectmen Mullane and Murphy.  Also present was Selectmen-Elect Donahue

Public Comments and Questions-NSVFC Chief Steinhart and firefighter Cassata came before the Board to request that the Town help in the purchase of an ATV, cost estimated at $26,300

Minutes-A motion was made by Mr. Mullane and seconded by Mr. Murphy to approve the minutes of November 1, 2011, carrying.  2-0

Correspondence

Old Business-

  1.   Tribal Issues-Acknowledgement Issues-A letter was received from BIA stating that the Historic Eastern Pequot Tribe had exhausted all administrative opportunities.  No FOI response to date to Town’s Request.

  2.   Subdivision Review and Planning and Zoning Issues-

              Affordable Housing/Incentive Housing regulations-PZC and Affordable Housing Committee have chosen a Consulting Group; will now go to PZC for approval

              Milltown Commons-No report

  3.   Permanent School Building Project Committee

              A. School Building Project RFQ for Architectural services-Consultant has been contracted, and report is due in March

              B. Permanent School Planning and Building Committee Project- No report

C. Middle School/High School Heating System Code Update-State inspection is completed, waiting for As Built Drawings and Energy Efficiency Testing

E. School of Choice-Pending Board of Education Action

  4.  Kingswood/Meadow Wood drainage-No report

              A.  Committee Report/Activities-Recommendations-No report

              Rec Area Basketball, Tennis Courts, Volleyball Courts/Ice Rink-Contractor is scheduled to be completed with installation of ice rink/volleyball court by Thanksgiving

              Main Street Bridges-Bid responses now due December 12, 2011, submittal date extended due to October snow storm Alfred and printer’s office without power for 7+ days

New Business-

1.           Tax Refund(s)-A motion was made by Shawn Murphy to refund taxes to Sandra Peterle-$1,257.90, seconded by Selectman Mullane, carrying. 2-0

2.           Anna Farm Road –Waiting for residents responses

3.           Board of Education funding request—Gymatorium Chimney estimate is increasing and will take up with Board when all information available

4.           Board Transition

Additional Items to Discuss-Selectman Mullane made a motion to amend agenda, seconded by Selectman Murphy, carrying.  2-0

5.           SELECTMEN’s 2012 Meeting Schedule-  After Review a schedule Selectman Mullane made a motion to adopted a calendar schedule and forward  to Town Clerk for Annual posting, seconded by Selectman Murphy, carrying.  2-0
