Call to Order- 7:30 PM with Selectmen Mullane, Murphy and Briscoe present

Minutes –A motion was made by Selectman Briscoe and seconded by Selectman Murphy to accept the minutes of September 6, 2011, as amended, carrying.  3-0

Correspondence

•            Memo-Governor Malloy, announces Insurance Commissioner announces additional carriers waiving higher-cost deductibles

  1.   Tribal Issues-Acknowledgement Issues-No report

  2.   Subdivision Review and Planning and Zoning Issues-

              Affordable Housing/Incentive Housing regulations-No report

  3.   Permanent School Building Project Committee

              A. School Building Project RFQ for Architectural services-Ad Hoc Committee to convene meeting to award contract on school facility study with Quisenberry Archai. 

              B. Permanent School Planning and Building Committee Project- Flashing on Gymatorium-Phase I and II are done.  Additional deficiencies were noted repaired and additional copper flashing ordered to be installed.  Base of Chimney found to be decaying and to be replaced under Board of Education budget.  Now getting cost estimates to seal the Gymatorium exterior surfaces.

C. Middle School/High School Heating System Code Update-Gymatorium and Elementary School are done. High School @ 90%, 2 week completion.

D. PSBC- List and schedule/status of projects-Updating

E. School of Choice-Report and presentation on September 27, 2011

  4.  Kingswood/Meadow Wood drainage review –No report

  5.  Affordable Housing Committee-No action

  6.  Hewitt property

              A.  Committee Report/Activities-Recommendations-Working on the removal of invasive plants, planning continues for Open House on October 22nd

              B.  Dam Repairs-Re-Engineering-Design and application to be signed next week and submitted to DEEP.

  7.  Boombridge Road Bridge- State and Federal Funding/ Contracting-Pending, Selectman Mullane will follow up

  8.  Grant applications/administration

              Water Study Ex. 92 X I95-No report

              Rec Area Basketball and Tennis Courts-No activity

              Town Hall Solar-Audit team visit, September 26th

9.  Board and Commission appointment

              Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center Board of Directors Representative Replacement-Shawn Murphy’s name will be submitted for considertaion

11.  Flood Damage Status Report/Repairs Update/ Action Items-Contract not yet approved by FEMA, can not bid until complete, also no firm answer if town will be reimbursed on purchase of cement arches
