MINUTES

Call to Order-The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM with Selectmen Mullane and Murphy present.


Public Comments and Questions-None presented

Minutes-A motion was made by Selectman Murphy and seconded by Selectman Mullane to approve the minutes of September 22, 2009, carrying.  2-0

1.   Tribal Issues –Copy of Senate Bill S1703 undoing US Supreme Court ruling on trust land without consideration of the towns or states.  Will write letter to oppose to Senators Dodd and Lieberman and Court date of October 8, 2009, US Appellate Court NY, NY on Schaghticoke v Department of Interior.

2.   Subdivision Review and Planning and Zoning Issues-Draft letters for Milltown Commons provided on sewer and water issues.  No action taken.

3.   Permanent School Building Project Committee

A.         Activities/membership-Ad Hoc Committee

                      Membership-No action

B.          Permanent School Planning and Building Committee Projects-Bid specifications for Gymatorium near completion.

C.          Middle School/High School Heating System Code Update-Pending Meeting

 4.   Town Energy Projects

                              Wind farm Project-No report

5.   Kingswood/Meadow Wood drainage review –Finalizing specifications for bid which now includes additional 950 feet of pipe on Old Colony Road.

6.  Affordable Housing Committee-No action

7.  Hewitt property

                                Committee Report/Activities-Committee is working on response to Selectmen

                                Dam Repairs-No action or report

                                Lease Renewals-Dew Drop Inn/Rosie’s-Response date of September 25th passed, Marshal served tenant on September 28th.

                                Haying Contract-Referred to Hewitt Property Committee for comments

1.        Single Stream Contract-Willimantic Waste Paper-Full Board will address next week

2.        Pinewoods Road-Improvements are on hold until court-October 26th

3.        Cemetery Commission appointments and confirmations-A motion was made by Selectman Mullane and seconded by Selectman Murphy to take the follow action.
