Call to Order-7:00 PM with Selectmen Mullane, Murphy and Briscoe


Public Comments and Questions-None presented

Minutes-A motion was made by Selectman Murphy and seconded by Selectman Mullane to approve the minutes of the November 10, 2009 meeting carrying. 2-0-1 Selectman Briscoe abstained.

1.   Tribal Issues

            Response to letters on Senate Bill S1703-No response to date from Senators

Appellate Hearing on Schaghticoke appeal-No information on Schaghticoke nation to request full court review of decision

Tribal Acknowledgement Additional Appropriation-Review of testimony for trust land Bill No. HR3697 and 3742, and opposing testimony against new tribal acknowledgement commission Bill.

2.   Subdivision Review and Planning and Zoning Issues-

            PZC Bucket List-Affordable Housing regulations not yet on agenda

            Milltown Commons-No new applications to date

            Review of Affordable Housing applications-Workshop scheduled for December 3rd

Wind farm Project-Can not install wind accelerator on existing cell towers, new 190’ tower to be installed end February.

                        Old Town Hall Solar Panels (including roof and chimney)-Due November 19th

12.   JAG Stimulus Grant –Additional appropriation $11375 ($9100 for grant and $2275 matching funds)

13.  DEP Testing Results-Information letter from DEP via Bill Ricker from Robert Isner on millings

14.  Pinewoods Road-Schedule informational meeting with Inland Wetlands on November 18th to review road drainage and paving.

15.  Request of YMCA to release interest in land on Button Road-No report

 

 

New Business-

1.       North Stonington Ambulance Financial Status-December 1st call in

2.       Tax Refund(s)A motion was made by Selectman Mullane seconded by Selectman Briscoe to approve a tax refunds to Ken and Kim D Amours in the amount of $111.29 and  $277.10, carrying 3-0

3.       Board of Selectmen’s Annual Report for FY 2008-2009-Working on draft

4.       Wheeler Library request for funding-Paul Kowack of the Wheeler Library Board of Trustees was in to discuss the preservation/renovations of the Library building.  The Library wants assistance and input from the Selectmen and Town residents on the preservation project.  The Board of Trustees will follow up after the first of 2010. 

Public Comments and Questions

            The Board were asked their opinion of Spaulding Bridge finish work by ConnDOT, and if beading was or was not needed between the formed stone work, consensus of the Board is that it was not needed, First Selectman Mullane will inform DOT.
