Call to Order
Public Comments and Questions-

New Business
1.      Call of Annual Town/Annual Budget Meeting-After general
discussion of the Annual Meeting it was determined that the budget
should be split into two parts, general government and board of
education, so that they can be vote upon separately, a motion was made
by Selectman Mullane, seconded by Selectman Peterson to approve the call
of the Annual Town/Annual Budget Meeting with six items, for June 12,
2007, carrying.  3-0
Annual Town/Annual Budget Meeting
Warning is hereby given to the electors and those entitled to vote at
town meetings of the Town of North Stonington that the Annual Town
Meeting/Annual Budget Meeting shall be held at the following location on
the date and time indicated for the purposes of transacting the business
setforth below:
Location:  North Stonington Elementary School Multi-Purpose Room
Date:   June 12, 2007
Time:  7:00 PM
1.      To hear and act upon the following Resolution:  Resolved:  that
the Board of Selectmen is hereby authorized and empowered to enter into
an agreement with the Commissioner of the State of Connecticut,
Department of Transportation, for the expenditure of all highway funds
available to said Town from the State Highway funds for the fiscal year
beginning July 1, 2007 under provisions of Chapter 240 of the
Connecticut General Statutes, 1958 Revision, as amended.
2.      To hear and act upon the following Resolution:  Resolved:  that
the Board
of Selectmen is hereby, authorized and empowered to obtain loans at
current interest rates for loans to municipalities in anticipation of
the receipt of tax collections and in anticipation of the receipt of
federal and/or state grants with respect to a project or program on such
terms and conditions as follows:  (a) the amount borrowed shall not
exceed $1,000,000, at any one time; and (b) the Board of Finance shall
receive, as early as possible, prior notification of any borrowing.  The
Board of Selectmen is further authorized and empowered to execute any
and all documents necessary and required.
3.      To hear and empower the First Selectmen to enter into any and
all agreements necessary to bind the services of Resident State Troopers
with the State of Connecticut Department of Public Safety, Division of
State Police for the period of July 1, 2007-June 30, 2009.
4.      To hear and act upon the amendment of the Town of North
Stonington's Local Capital Improvement Plan for fiscal years 2007-2012.
5.      "Shall the Town of north Stonington approve the
estimates and recommendations of the Board of Finance with respect to
the annual budget for fiscal year July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008, in
the amount of $ 5,572,341 for the general government, and make specific
appropriations and authorize expenditures in, connection therewith as
appear advisable?"
6.      "Shall the Town of North Stonington approve the estimates and
recommendations of the Board of Finance with respect to the annual
budget for fiscal year July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008, in the amount
of $ 12,121,502  Board of Education, and make specific appropriations
and authorize   expenditures in, connection therewith as appear
advisable?"

2.      Discussion/Action upon Referendum Resolution-After general
discussion on the merits of voting at referendum a motion was made by
Selectman Mullane, seconded by Selectman Peterson to send budget items
five and six on the General Government and Board of Education budgets to
referendum June 19, 2007.
