Special Meeting Minutes

North Stonington, CT
1. Call to Order: Chairman Dan Spring called the meeting to order at 8:25 PM. Brent Woodward, Charlie Steinhart, Emile Pavolvics, Tim Main and Mustapha Ratib were present. Mustapha Ratib left at 8:30 PM.
2. Review and Action on the FY 2014/2015 Budget: After a presentation by BOF Chairman Dan Spring of the FY 2014/2015 budget, which represents a mill increase over the current year, numerous questions and comments were received by the residents. Questions and comments will be further evaluated by the Board and if warranted, amendments to the budget can be made in a timely manner prior to the Town meeting.
3. BOF/BOS/BOE: Review, School Building Project Referendum: Superintendent of Schools Peter Nero presented a revised, less expensive school project than what had been previously disapproved at the Referendum on May 5, 2014, nine days earlier. The revision deleted the gymnasium from the middle/high school arrangement. A cost comparison of the revised and disapproved version are shown below.

4. Comment and Questions: Public comments and questions were heard by the Superintendent, members of the Adhoc committee and BOE for their consideration in going forward with the proposal.
5. Adjournment: A motion to adjourn was made by Dan Spring. The motion was seconded by Tim Main and carried 5-0-0. The meeting was adjourned at 9:20 PM.
