Approved Meeting Minutes

- Call to Order: Chairman M. Donahue called the meeting to order at 7:32 P.M. Chairman M. Donahue, Vice Chairman D. Spring, P. Nimirowski, E. Pavlovics, M. Ratib and E. Bresette were present.
- Public Comments and Questions: None.
- Board of Selectmen:
- Additional Budget Input: The Selectmen provided a copy of the CCM summary of the Appropriations Committee Proposed Budget Impact on North Stonington, dated April 21, 2011. The difference between the Governor’s Proposal and the Appropriations’ Proposal for FY2012 is an increase of $140 in formula grant revenue.
- Department Budget Reviews: The Selectmen forwarded the Fire Department’s answers to questions concerning their proposed budget regarding questions about pagers, physicals, officer stipends, radios and water hose valve.
- Board of Finance Strategy:
- Budget Schedule: Based on the current uncertainty of a potential decrease in intergovernmental revenue for the Town should “Plan B” (no union concessions) be implemented, the Board will delay release of the 2011/12 budget until at least May 11th.
- 2011-12 Budget: M. Donahue will provide the Selectmen with estimated Schedule of Debt figures for confirmation. The Selectmen were requested to confirm if the proposed lease arrangement for a new street sweeper includes allowance for trade-in value of the existing sweeper. N. Mullane will provide additional information concerning the level of police service that supports the need for the current staffing of three troopers.
- Previous Minutes: P. Nimirowski moved to approve the BOF Regular Meeting minutes of April 20th. D. Spring seconded and the motion carried 6-0-0.
- Correspondence: None.
- Future Agenda Items Identification: Impact of Referendum Results on Proposed Budget
- Adjournment: D. Spring moved to adjourn. P. Nimirowski seconded and the motion carried 6-0-0. The meeting adjourned at 9:47 PM.
