North Stonington Affordable Housing Advisory Committee

The meeting was called to order by Co-Chairman Mary Ann Ricker at 6:05 PM. The minutes of the Oct.27, 2011 meeting were approved.
John Olsen, representing the proposed Meadow Court apartment project gave the AHC a status report. The State DEP has reviewed the public safety issues. The NS WPCA is now reviewing the aquifer/ storm water runoff questions, which Meadow Court has addressed with engineered septic systems and a water runoff containment system. Mr. Olsen asked that AHC stay informed of the status of the project, and attend WPCA hearings. Michelle Brophy will prepare a list of talking points for the AHC.
Committee members reported on the response to the references contacted for the two finalists in the NSAHC Housing Study. The references contacted regarding Goderre Associates were officials from Bolton, CT., and Coventry, CT. The references contacted for Planimetrics were town officials from Stonington, CT., Bloomfield, CT, and Canterbury, CT. The AHC members voted on their choices: Goderre Associates received 2 votes, Planimetrics received 3 votes. Planimetrics was chosen to be awarded the contract.
Juliet Leeming will determine the actual date of the contract – we’re assuming it will be Jan.1, 2012. She will notify the applicants and the BOS of our selection.
A motion was made and thereafter seconded that the committee be adjourned at 7:25 PM. The next meeting will be held Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011, 6:00 PM, Wheeler High School Media Center.
