North Stonington Affordable Housing Advisory Committee

In attendance : Michelle Brophy, James Scaramozza, Tim Pelland, Stella Neves-Elbaum.
Absent : Mary Ann Ricker
Guests : Marilyn Mackay, Julie Savin
Tim Pelland , co chairman, called the meeting to order at 6:05PM.
It was moved, seconded and carried to approve the minutes of the Jan. 27,2010 meeting.
It was moved, seconded and carried to invite John Olsen, Meadow Court property, to address our next meeting on March 16, 2010.
The committee discussed the first draft of the Educational Brochure.
The committee reviewed and discussed a list of state-owned properties from the DEP as potential sites for affordable housing.
Julie Savin, Director of Real Estate Development, SE Region, of NeighborWorks New Horizons was introduced to the committee. She agreed to assist us as a resource and to attend committee meetings as her schedule allows.
The committee discussed advocacy issues and our role in the community.
The next meeting will be March 16,2010 at 6:00pm, Elementary School Library.
