Minutes of Meeting January 4, 2010
North Reading Youth Services Committee

Attendees: Frank Ferraro, Terry Blade, Tracy Helms, Judy Hall, Christine Fisher, Jenny O’Leary – Youth Services Director, Kathy Dardeno – NRYSSA representative, Joanne Pawlowski – NRYSSA representative
Youth Services Director update:
Jenny distributed and reviewed the January calendar of events and activities. Jenny also distributed the
draft of the February calendar including the schedule for February vacation. The events that are being held during February vacation will take place at the rec center.
Jenny informed the committee that her programs for 2010 will remain the same as those that were in place in 2009. Her efforts will be on the growth of each program.
Next topic of discussion was adding new committee members immediately to grow our committee to
11 members. Christine will request appointment interests in Transcript. Frank informed the committee of two prospective new members that have submitted applications in the recent past. We will follow up with
these two individuals. A list was compiled of contacts that will be reached out to. New committee members can be appointed on January 19.

Treasurer – Christine Fisher
Secretary – Tracy Helms
Budget and annual report:
Karthy Dardeno, NRYSSA representative, reviewed in detail the annual report with the committee.
The annual report was approved by the committee. Jenny will make corrections and submit on Friday.
Kathy further recommended that we submit the same FY2010 operating budget including the revolving budget. The budget narrative which Jenny drafted was discussed and will be submitted with corrections noted from Kathy Dardeno.
There was a brief discussion on the committee developing an outreach program. This will be further discussed at our next committee meeting in February. Also to be discussed are the specific goals of our committee for 2010.
Our next meeting is to be held on Monday, February 1 at 6:00 p.m.
