Board of Selectmen Minutes December 16, 2005

Chairman Mauceri called the meeting to order at 1:30 p.m. in Room 14 at Town Hall in the presence of members  Mr. O’Leary and Mrs. Bailey, Town Administrator Greg Balukonis, Rep. Bradley Jones, Jr., Fred Van Magness, Chief of Staff, Paul O’Leary and David Hanlon.

The purpose of the meeting was to review the status of the J. T. Berry Center development proposal.

Rep. Jones addressed the prior approval by the Inspector General for a mixed use project.

Board members acknowledged concerns by residents who believe the development proposal should be rebid due to the project changing from an office/commercial use to a mixed use development.

Rep. Jones agreed to look into whether the option to purchase by Gutierrez had been extended.

There was discussion about which Town board would be submitting the Chapter 40R rezoning proposal for the 2006 ATM.

The Selectmen indicated a preference for holding a public hearing before the CPC zoning hearing.

Rep. Jones will look into the status of the Berry Reuse Committee to see if additional meetings are necessary under the statute that created the same.
