Parks and Recreation Meeting Minutes of Monday,
January 6th, 2014

New Business:
- Received a citizen activity report request to join committees. Rita will contact Mr. Twomey and give him background information.
- Maureen summarized the contract with the vendor. She secured a 3 year contract at the fixed price, receiving 2 tablets, receiving special activities module free for this year ($695 value). We also purchased POS module for $495, and we are still under budget.

- Reappointments: Table until 1/13/14 meeting
- Parks Director Update (MT)-None

- Operation Director Update (MS)
- Maureen summarized. Finance Director would like budgets by next Monday. Maureen let them know it is impossible. MS handed out budgets to be reviewed by committee, they are due for discussion 1/13/14 meeting.
- Committee asked MS to meet with Parks & Rec Directors to go over what their needs are for the budget.

Other Business
- Bob Ramsdell, Youth Basketball League
- Bob is trying to be proactive and address the needs of the Youth Basketball League and space when the new schools are built and up until that point. They do not expect a problem during the weekends but they are losing time slots during the week days. Games usually start in December and Weeknights and afternoons are usually practice times.
- Competing with other organizations for slots. There is a men’s league that plays on Thursday nights. Recreation did not know anything about a men’s group and it is not through us. Rec will ask about it.
