Parks and Recreation Meeting Minutes of March 24, 2010

Attendance:

LWCF Grant (LM)
Lauren informed the committee that LUC requested the Parks & Recreation Committee members to join LUC’s meeting at 8pm tonight to discuss LWCF Grant.

Wine and Food Social
The committee reviewed duties and responsibilities of people at the Wine and Food Social on March 26th.  This included reviewing restaurant pick ups and times.  Time frames were laid out for raffle, auction rules, food serving, auction announcements and closings, etc.  It was discussed that everyone who can be available to help will meet at the Hillview Country Club at 10am on March 26th.  Billy Luker volunteered to pick up beer from McDonough Liquors in Stoneham.

(MF)   a motion was made by Mike Fitzpatrick for the Committee to adjourn the Parks & Recreation meeting adjourned at 7:46pm and the committee members and Sheila joined the LUC meeting in Room 10 at the Town Hall.

Discussion at LUC Meeting:

Lauren McMullen explained to LUC that Parks & Recreation has the opportunity to apply for a grant through the
Land Water Conservation Fund for the Pavilion Project at IRP.  In order to apply for the grant P&R would like
LUC’s approval on moving forward.

Ken Tarr, Chair person of LUC will entertain a motion by the LUC members:

Bill Reed made a motion to recommend writing a letter recommending to support Parks & Recreation Dept
applying for the LWCF grant and will write a letter supporting the need for a pavilion at IRP.

Margie Salt seconds the motion

Motion Passed.

Lauren McMullen will entertain a motion from the Park s7 Recreation Committee members:

Rita Mullin made a motion for Parks & Recreation to apply for a grant through the Land Water Conservation fund for the construction of a pavilion at IRP.
