Calvert 2040: Your county. Your future.
In September, the Calvert County Department of Community Planning and Building (CPB) will host its first round of public workshops. We are asking for your assistance in informing the community about the upcoming workshops. These workshops are intended to create highly interactive opportunities for participants to hear from each other and for the comprehensive plan and zoning ordinance team to hear from citizens in facilitated small group discussions. The workshops will allow broad discussion of focus topics and also accommodate separate discussion of zoning issues with CPB staff and the county’s consultant, Parsons Brinckerhoff.

Plan to attend and share your vision for economic vitality, tourism and recreational opportunities, preserving the county’s rural character, bringing growth and vibrancy to our town centers and maintaining or enhancing Calvert County’s way of life. Three workshops will be held:

Wednesday, Sept. 28, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Dunkirk Volunteer Fire Department, 3170 West Ward Road, Dunkirk
Thursday, Sept. 29, 1-3 p.m., Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad & Fire Department, 13150 H.G. Trueman Road, Solomons
Thursday, Sept. 29, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Calvert High School, 520 Fox Run Blvd., Prince Frederick

Doors will open 30 minutes before each workshop for an open house. Maps, graphs and other information will be on display. Staff will be available to answer questions during the open houses and after each workshop. Residents can also share their vision for Calvert County’s future by taking a few moments to complete a survey using the brand-new online tool, SpeakUp Calvert!
