1.  As most of you know, the 2nd Annual End Hunger Dragon Boat Festival is this Saturday, June 21 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The attached site map shows the layout of vendors, team tents, scoreboard, etc. The event will be held on Bay Avenue between Chestnut Avenue and 5th Street. The following streets will be closed for the event:
  • Friday, June 20th: 3rd Street between Bay and Chesapeake Avenues, 5th Street between Bay and Chesapeake Avenues and Bay Avenue from 3rd to 7th Streets will close at 4:00 p.m. These streets will not reopen until after the event is over on Saturday, June 21st.
  • Friday, June 20th: 1st and 2nd Streets between Bay and Chesapeake Avenues and Bay Avenue from 1st to 3rd Streets will close at 9:00 p.m. These streets will not reopen until after the event is over on Saturday, June 21st.
There will be no thru traffic and no parking allowed on those streets. We apologize for any inconveniences this may cause you over the weekend. Please call us at the Town Hall with any questions or concerns regarding these street closings.

2. The 8th Annual Summer Solstice Sunrise Yoga is this Sunday, June 22, 2014 at 5:45a.m. Join us at the North Beach Boardwalk for Summer Solstice Sunrise Yoga! Celebrate the season with your Yoga Community, and help support Children's Aid, Inc., a nonprofit organization striving to promote the importance of education and literacy to Calvert County children in need.  Children's Aid, Inc. provides information to families on topics such as coping skills, conflict resolution and handling peer pressure.  Children's Aid, Inc. offers several programs: Operation Backpack, Christmas Cheer, Youth Sports Scholarship and "The Great Book Giveaway."
When attending Sunrise Yoga, be sure to bring a yoga mat, and a towel to place between your mat and the boardwalk.
